Joseph Rackers is Professor of Piano at the Eastman School of Music, where he teaches an international class of pianists. His students have earned prizes in numerous piano competitions including the MTNA National Competition, Minnesota International E-Piano Competition, Washington D.C., YoungArts, Seattle, Steinway, IIYM, Blount-Slawson, Liszt-Garrison and numerous others. His students hold university teaching positions across the United States, China and South Korea. He has given dozens of masterclasses throughout the United States,  including Indiana University, University of Michigan, Boston University, Gina Bachauer International Piano Festival, UCLA, UNLV and Vanderbilt in addition to music festivals and conservatories across Europe, China and South Korea. He is co-founder of the Southeastern Piano Festival, one of the premier venues in the United States for the training of young pianists and presentation of distinguished artists in concert, as well as Artistic Director at both the Southeastern Piano Festival and Vivace Matera International Piano Festival. He regularly serves as jury member for national and international piano competitions.
